  1. Slowly, applications are showing up which are PowerPC or PowerMac native. Many
  2. of the programs which run native on a PowerMac, also run on a regular Mac
  3. (now being called a 68k - representing the 680x0 Macs).Programs which run on both
  4. the PowerMac and 68k Macs are called Fat Binary or just Fat programs. But some
  5. programs which run on a PowerMac REQUIRE a PowerMac. These are the files that are
  6. in the PowerMac folder.

  8. The items being placed in this folder require a PowerMac to run, or are specific
  9. to a PowerMac - such as NativeChecker - a program which tells you what programs
  10. will run native.

  12. Below is a list of Fat programs, which will run on any Mac, but also native on a
  13. PowerMac. They have been placed along with other files in their respective folders
  14. on AMUG CD and AMUG CD2. The paths are shown to find the programs. Paths which
  15. begins with Files II are found on the AMUG CD2.
